Meet some of our leaders
AmeriHealth New Jersey
Mike Munoz is senior vice president of sales and marketing for AmeriHealth New Jersey. In his role Munoz oversees new business and retention for the entire sales organization across all market segments including individual, small and large business, public sector, municipalities and self-funded. He is also responsible for the development and execution of AmeriHealth New Jersey's entire suite of products and oversees operational readiness across the organization.
Munoz spearheads AmeriHealth New Jersey's consumer engagement strategy and ensures the company is compliant with health care reform per the Affordable Care Act. In addition, he heads the company's marketing organization, which encompasses marketing communications, advertising and social media. He also oversees public relations and internal communications.
Munoz has more than 25 years of experience in the health insurance industry. Prior to AmeriHealth New Jersey, he was vice president of sales for the mid-Atlantic region and new business opportunities for Oxford Health Plans in Iselin, NJ. There he was responsible for the start up and rollout of new product offerings and expansion into Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Southern New Jersey.
Munoz sits on the board of directors for Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey, South Jersey March of Dimes, the CARES Institute, the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey and Rowan University’s Dean’s Development Council.
Ken Kobylowski oversees AmeriHealth New Jersey’s Provider Relations, Provider Partnerships, and Provider Contracting and Reimbursement areas. Kobylowski ensures that AmeriHealth New Jersey’s provider networks support the various product lines of business, including consumer-directed products, ACO partnerships, tiered networks, pay-for-performance, and shared- savings models.
Kobylowski possesses an in-depth understanding of the New Jersey health care system. Prior to joining AmeriHealth New Jersey, he served as Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance, playing a critical leadership role during the historic implementation of the Affordable Care Act. As Commissioner, he also oversaw New Jersey’s banking, insurance and real estate industries and held several leadership roles with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).
Before serving as Commissioner, Kobylowski was with Herrick, Feinstein, LLP, a New York-based law firm, for more than a decade. He holds a J.D., cum laude, from New York Law School and a B.S., magna cum laude, in finance from Seton Hall University.
Michael Zollenberg has overall responsibility for AmeriHealth New Jersey’s network contracting and strategy. He oversees the establishment and implementation of reimbursement models, negotiations and innovative pay-for-performance programs for the hospital, physician and ancillary network. He also leads AmeriHealth New Jersey’s network operations support team, which does extensive analysis and research to ensure any network services issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Prior to AmeriHealth New Jersey, Michael was regional contract manager for Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield and was responsible for the development, negotiation, execution and maintenance of network contracts with hospitals, ancillary provider, IPA’s and physician groups in New York and New Jersey.
Michael holds an MHA from Ohio University and a B.A. in communications from Rutgers University. He also sits on the board of the Gateway Regional Chamber of Commerce.
AmeriHealth New Jersey
Ryan Petrizzi is vice president of consumer markets and product development for AmeriHealth New Jersey. In his role, he is responsible for end-to-end oversight and accountability of consumer markets, membership growth and retention within the consumer markets including sales forecasting and the development and execution of the consumer market strategic plan. In addition, Petrizzi is responsible for product development, product implementation, sales support, healthcare reform and strategies and departmental project oversight for all market segments.
Previously, Ryan was director of sales operations and small markets for AmeriHealth New Jersey, where he oversaw AmeriHealth New Jersey’s product management and sales operations teams as well as small group and individual market sales segments throughout the state.
As one of only two carriers on the Individual and SHOP Marketplaces in New Jersey, AmeriHealth New Jersey’s profile has been heightened significantly and Ryan has played a valuable role in shaping the company’s health care reform exchange strategy. He consistently ensures a cohesive relationship between the sales organization and key operational areas so they can seamlessly meet customers’ needs. He was also responsible for ensuring AmeriHealth New Jersey’s suite of products were reform compliant, and ready when the Marketplaces went live in October 2013.
Prior to AmeriHealth New Jersey, Ryan was a managing partner in a consulting firm. He has also held various sales-related roles with Aetna US Healthcare throughout New Jersey and Delaware where he was recognized as one of the top sales people nationwide.
Ryan serves as Vice Chair for the New Jersey Association of Health Plans and President of the Burlington County Special Services Educational Foundation. In 2015, Ryan was named to South Jersey Biz magazine’s 20 Under 40 list and NJBIZ’s Forty Under 40 list. He holds a B.S. in both marketing and corporate communications from Albright College.
Dr. Urbano is responsible for working with the provider network physicians to ensure the effectiveness of medical and utilization management activities, quality management programs, pharmacy management, and medical policy for New Jersey. He also supports physician recruitment and retention activities and strengthens relationships with the medical community across New Jersey.
Dr. Urbano has spoken nationwide on various topics related to case management, healthcare delivery, medical management, and healthcare policy. He is a Fellow in the 2016-2017 AHIP Executive Leadership Program for Medical Directors, a national leadership forum to help shape the future of health care. He is also member of the first cohort of the New Jersey Healthcare Executive Leadership Academy (NJHELA), designed to enhance cross disciplinary, collaborative leadership among three health care sectors in order to improve the health care delivery system in New Jersey.
Throughout his career, Dr. Urbano has been dedicated to improving care coordination. Before joining AmeriHealth New Jersey, he was medical director of care management for the Einstein Healthcare Network, where he worked to bring high-quality, cost-effective care to an underserved urban community. Prior to that, he was medical director of care coordination at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ.
Dr. Urbano received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Rutgers University and his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He completed his residency training at Thomas Jefferson University, where he served as chief resident in internal medicine. He is board certified in internal medicine. Dr. Urbano also holds an MBA with a concentration in healthcare management from Widener University. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Association for Physician Leadership and the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy.
