NJAHP Elects New Board of Directors: AmeriHealth's Litten to Serve as Chairperson
Trenton, NJ - February 20, 2009 - The New Jersey Association of Health Plans (NJAHP) - a non-profit association representing New Jersey's leading health care plans - has elected Brian J. Litten as chairperson for 2009-2010 at its January executive-board meeting.
Brian Litten, vice president of strategic and external affairs at AmeriHealth New Jersey (AmeriHealth), becomes the first AmeriHealth executive to serve as NJAHP board chairperson. He also serves on the national board of the Public Affairs Council and as a trustee of the Coriell Institute for Medical Research. Litten was also appointed by Governor Jon Corzine to New Jersey's Health Care Access Study Commission. He lives in Moorestown, NJ.
Litten is joined by: Larry Lewis, Jr., vice chairperson; John M. Leyman, treasurer; Katie Wade, secretary; Brendan Peppard, chairperson, legislative committee; and Joseph W. Manger, chairperson, Medicaid committee.
"NJAHP's charter is to identify and address the challenges facing the New Jersey health care industry, in a manner that ultimately benefits plan members and our other important stakeholders," said Wardell Sanders, president of NJAHP. "Our new board of directors for the 2009-2010 term is actively committed to supporting that charter."
