The Camden Riversharks and AmeriHealth New Jersey Team Up to Promote Health and Wellness to Kids

"Line Drives for Healthy Lives" School Assembly Program Kicks Off Its Second Year

Cranbury, NJ - February 9, 2012 - Forget the peanuts and Cracker Jacks, it’s time for the kiddies to consider some healthier snacks.

For the second year, the Camden Riversharks and AmeriHealth New Jersey have partnered to help promote healthy and active lifestyles to the children of Southern New Jersey and Philadelphia.

The “Line Drives for Healthy Lives” school assembly program was designed for area elementary schools, to promote and educate children on the importance of eating healthy and staying active.

Camden Riversharks staff members along with the team’s mascot, Finley, present the program to the children in a fun and interactive presentation fit for the entire school.

“Our partnership with AmeriHealth New Jersey has significantly contributed to the growth and success of ‘Line Drives for Healthy Lives’ program,” said Drew Nelson, director of Corporate Partnerships for the Camden Riversharks. “The requests we have received for the assembly have more than doubled since last year and that tells us we are having a positive impact on the children of Southern New Jersey and Philadelphia.”

“It’s important to instill healthy behaviors early in life so that children can carry those lessons into adulthood,” said Judith L. Roman, president and CEO of AmeriHealth New Jersey. “AmeriHealth New Jersey is proud to work with the Camden Riversharks again this year and help educate the children in our local communities.”

The program is available to all schools, free of charge, throughout the entire school year. For more information about this new educational program, or to secure a date for your students, please call 1-866-SHARKS-9.
