AmeriHealth NJ Provides Employers With New Option to Help Manage Health Care Costs
Cranbury, NJ - August 8, 2013 - AmeriHealth New Jersey today announced it will be offering small employers (2 - 50 employees), as well as large employers, access to MyAHNJ, the company’s new private exchange, at no additional cost.

AmeriHealth New Jersey worked with Liazon, operator of the industry-leading private benefits exchange for businesses across the U.S., to create MyAHNJ.
How MyAHNJ works for employers
Employers who opt for MyAHNJ will have the ability to provide their employees with a specified amount of money annually, versus paying for a percentage of annual premiums, which helps manage costs more effectively.
In addition, employers pre-select a “health plan package,” which minimizes the pressure to pick just one plan that will work for all of its employees. MyAHNJ offers six different health plan packages.
“We recognize that employers, especially small businesses, in New Jersey are looking for new ways to offer their employees valuable benefits at an affordable cost. MyAHNJ enables them to do just that,” said Munoz.
How MyAHNJ works for employees
During the open enrollment period, employees will be provided with a link to an online portal created specifically for their company. They will also be given a username and password that is unique to them.
The online portal is designed to help individuals select the health plan that most closely matches their needs. MyAHNJ walks each user through a questionnaire about health, wealth, and personality in order to recommend the right health plan for them and their families. Employees can compare health plans side-by-side, view plan costs by pay period, and even make choices based on scenario analyses of projected costs.
Once a health plan is selected, employees will use the money that has been allocated by their employer to purchase their health plan and ancillary benefits through the online portal.
