AmeriHealth New Jersey and Meridian Health Collaborate to Provide Affordable Options for Self-Funded Businesses in Monmouth and Ocean Counties
Cranbury, NJ — July 21, 2015 — AmeriHealth New Jersey and Meridian Health today announced a collaboration to offer self-funded businesses in Monmouth and Ocean counties access to the AmeriHealth Advantage plan.
Created to be mindful of a business’ budget and provide more choice, the AmeriHealth Advantage plan offers a tiered network option that has lower copays and out-of-pocket costs for members who utilize the Tier 1 network.
Meridian Health is the featured Tier 1 provider in the AmeriHealth Advantage network in Monmouth and Ocean counties giving members access to Meridian’s five hospitals, 400 physicians and diverse health care services, including home health services, skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, ambulatory care, ambulance services, and outpatient centers, such as surgery and imaging centers. Physicians that are part of Meridian Health Partners, Meridian’s clinically integrated network, will work together to improve the quality of care while controlling costs. With Meridian’s more than 100 convenient locations throughout Monmouth and Ocean counties, members have access to high-quality care, close to home.
Tier 2 provides members with access to AmeriHealth New Jersey’s broader Local Value Network across the entire state, which offers additional in-network options with an increase in copays and out-of-pocket costs.
“Our collaboration with Meridian is another example of how AmeriHealth New Jersey drives joint accountability in partnering with physicians and hospitals to deliver higher quality health care and lower costs for New Jersey residents,” said Judith L. Roman, president and CEO of AmeriHealth New Jersey.
“Over the past several years, Meridian has been focused on developing and implementing programs to integrate patient care, while reducing costs and increasing quality,” says Patrick Young, executive vice president of Meridian Health Solutions. “We are partnering with AmeriHealth New Jersey to offer a product that will deliver a better patient experience for everyone, while at the same time controlling costs.”
The AmeriHealth Advantage plans are currently available to self-funded businesses in Ocean and Monmouth counties and will be available to consumers and fully insured small businesses in both counties effective January 1, 2016. The plans will be available for purchase on the Individual and SHOP Marketplaces, or by contacting AmeriHealth New Jersey directly, or through a broker.
