AmeriHealth New Jersey enhances private exchange portal for small businesses with new software technology
Cranbury, NJ — November 16, 2015 — AmeriHealth New Jersey today announced that its private exchange, MyAHNJ, now provides enhanced technology that offers employer groups a comprehensive selection of products for their employees through a guided online shopping site.
In 2013, AmeriHealth New Jersey began offering a defined contribution model for small businesses, which eliminates the “one-size-fits-all” approach employers often use when selecting a health insurance plan for their employees. With this new option, employers give employees a set amount of money to shop for a health benefits plan on a private exchange. Employees are given a username and password to log on to MyAHNJ and shop for plans preselected by the employer. The model not only helps employers manage costs more effectively, it allows employees more options to select a plan that is right for them.
With the new software technology provided by Array Health, MyAHNJ is more comprehensive than ever. Employees who log on to shop for plans will find the process even more user-friendly and highly informative.
“We are committed to giving employees the insurance shopping experience that best meets their needs” said Mike Munoz, senior vice president of sales and marketing for AmeriHealth New Jersey. “Through the Array Health e-commerce platform, we will be able to offer employees more choice than ever before, while giving them the tools to make the decision that is right for them.”
“The new technology provided by Array Health will significantly reduce the time it takes for an employer to get on the platform so that employees can start shopping,” said Ryan Petrizzi, vice president of consumer markets and product development for AmeriHealth New Jersey. “We’re pleased to pass along this increase in efficiency to brokers and employee customers.”
“We are thrilled to work with AmeriHealth New Jersey and support their effort to provide a more comprehensive private exchange solution,” said Jonathan Rickert, CEO of Array Health. “AmeriHealth New Jersey’s online exchange will enable them to strengthen relationships with employer groups and individuals and increase brand loyalty with the consumers of its products.”
MyAHNJ will allow employees to shop and enroll in medical, dental, and vision plans this fall for coverage effective January 1, 2016. Specialty products such as long-term disability, accident and voluntary life insurance, will also be offered on the private exchange.
